Nascar Shares a story from Haiti Print E-mail

Bob Scott is a friend of a friend of mine.  We've never met, but I hope one day I can shake his hand.  Take a few minutes to watch his story.  Feel free to leave comments on your impressions.  I was deeply moved by many things here.  It might take me a day or two to process it all.

In A Moment Print E-mail

“It’s going too fast!”

Of the three of us I am the only one who has experience with this and I know we are too late.  It is exhilarating to stand that close to the massive pulsing power of the machine as it passes.  Our feet are at awkward angles as we shift to find balance on the sharp rocks that line the track.  Hot wind blows off of the machine into our excited faces, carrying the sweet smell of tar, and oil, and metal, and adventure.  And the sound!  The huge roaring power of it all!  I love being here.  I’m hungry for the adventure. Video Impressions of Sebastion Inlet, Florida Print E-mail

Waiting on a Donor List Print E-mail

As I crossed the street into the park, she definitely stood out in the crowd.  Not that she was one to draw attention in any particular way, but she had an enormous Doberman on a short leash.  The dog was as big as she was, and walked right next to her, completely at ease and docile in the crowd of people around her.  On the dog's back was a white pack with the words "Guide Dog In Training".
